Sunset on the Square

Sunset on the Square is a weekly festival in downtown Collierville which features folksy-type music and lots of barbeque. Up this week was the Brad Kessler Band.

Desperate to take photos of something besides $250,000 dollars worth of concrete turned into a lame attempt at public art, I grabbed the camera and bolted to Collierville after work.

Unfortunately, the only decent photo I got tonight was of the sound guy… Grr…

Here’s Brad Kessler, left, and Lindsey Toland singing ‘My Town.’ I know it’s a famous country song, but I don’t much care for country, so I’m not going to look up who wrote it for the sole purpose of spiting anybody who happens upon this and loves the singer…

A wide shot of the whole proceedings.

I actually took this a few days ago when I was in downtown Collierville. It’s the ceiling of the gazebo the band is singing in. Great woodwork.

+++++

Now, this next photo is my entry into the “Could have been the greatest photo ever, had I known how to use my camera properly” category. Taking photos of kids is never easy, especially so when they’re not your kids, you don’t know them, and they’re not posing for you. However, I got this great shot of this kid dancing to one of the songs up front. It’s an awesome pose and great framing on my part. It looked great on the viewfinder, but when I got home and uploaded it, I noticed THE $%#$ING AUTO-FOCUS DECIDED TO PAY ATTENTION TO THE GUARDRAIL BEHIND THEM!!!!!

Not that my camera ticks me off from time to time or anything…
