So long, and thanks for all the fish…

It’s about that time, eh?

Thursday marks my last day living in Memphis. After spending the past two years in the far southwest corner of the state, I’m packing up and making my way up to sunny Mishawaka, Indiana to be closer to my fiancĂ©e Jessica (Oh, if I haven’t told you yet, I’m engaged!) and to start a web design business. Most of my stuff is already in the new place. All that’s left for me here is suitcase full of clothes, two more days of work at the CA and a night out getting my butt handed to me in pool.

I’ve come a long way since I first came to the Bluff City. For better or for worse, I cut my adult teeth in Memphis. I learned to love it’s obsession with its son Elvis. I ate a ton of barbeque. I went to Redbird games and never quite figured out why barbeque nachos are so big there, but ate them anyway.

I’ve gotten to know many amazing people here in town, and I’ll never forget the influences they’ve had in my life. I’ve been privileged to work with some very talented people at the paper. Without their influence, I wouldn’t be able to make this next step in my professional life.

The kids at Grace Evan put up with my sarcastic attitude which sometimes broke into straight-up bitterness, and for that I’m extremely grateful.

The goal for this space is to be a way for me to let people that I’ve gotten to know over the past two years and before what’s going on up in the Hoosier state. I’ve said that before about this site and never really had the followthrough, but I think I’ll have better incentive to keep the site up this go-around.

I’ll have some more info for the new business in the following weeks, but if you happen to need website, or know anybody who does, feel free to send them my way.
